Two Czech Players Reach First Wimbledon Women's Final

Karolina Muchova and Linda Noskova will face each other in the Wimbledon women's final on Saturday after both advanced through the semifinals. The matchup marks the first time two players from the same country have contested a women's major final in nearly a decade.

Path to the Final Muchova reached the final by defeating Coco Gauff in the semifinals, winning a deciding-set tiebreaker after more than two and a half hours on court. She has won ten consecutive matches and defeated three former major champions during the fortnight.

Noskova advanced by beating Marta Kostyuk in straight sets, winning 74 percent of her first-serve points and not facing a break point until the second set.

Noskova has held serve in 30 of her last 32 service games at the tournament. Muchova has prior experience in a major final, having pushed the top seed to three sets at the 2023 French Open. >"The serving was insane," Kostyuk said after the match. Muchova and Noskova previously played doubles together at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
