Two-year-old rescued from Venezuela quake rubble as death toll reaches 2,295

Jordanian rescuers pulled two-year-old Kleiber Moran from rubble in Venezuela's northern La Guaira state early Tuesday, six days after two major earthquakes struck the country last Wednesday. The boy was found in the remains of his home. He arrived at a hospital in Caracas in shock and screaming repeatedly but slept through the night and had stabilised by Wednesday, his aunt Andreína Sarmiento told BBC.

Kleiber sustained no fractures and only minor scratches on his arms and legs. He lay in a ward with other child survivors, wrapped in a Spiderman blanket and playing with toys. Andreína Sarmiento, 23, said she fell to the floor and wept when a friend called from La Guaira with news of the rescue.
