Iran's UN ambassador Amir Saeed Iravani confirmed that talks between Iran and the United States remain active and are being conducted through Pakistan. Washington and Tehran are exchanging positions through Islamabad as the two sides work toward an agreement. Amir Saeed Iravani said the two sides have not yet reached a final text but are actively pursuing one.

He stated that Iran is writing its Lebanon condition directly into the draft text. Iran is insisting that any truce in the Gulf must also hold in Lebanon. Amir Saeed Iravani framed the ceasefire as comprehensive and covering the whole region including Lebanon.

The confirmation came via Iranian state media Tasnim News Agency after a weekend of heightened tensions. Drafts continue to move through Pakistan, according to the ambassador's statements.
