The two Pegasus tankers departed from Tel Aviv and are heading east toward the Persian Gulf. Refueling tankers do not conduct combat missions. Their role is to extend the operational range of other aircraft.
Aircraft that rely on aerial refueling include F-35s, F-15s, and B-2 Spirits. The tankers allow these planes to reach distant targets and return to base. The reported activity was noted by the account EGYOSINT.
