U.S. Apache Helicopter Brought Down by Iranian Drone Amid Ongoing U.S.-Iran Conflict and Blockade
An Apache attack helicopter crashed near Oman on June 8 after being struck by an Iranian drone. President Trump said the U.S. must respond to the incident.

The investigation has not yet determined whether Iran intended to use the drone to attack the helicopter. The drone is the same type Iran typically uses to target ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz, one official said.
U.S. Official. President Donald Trump said the helicopter was shot down by Iran. “I have just been informed by our Great Military that last night the Iranians shot down one of our highly sophisticated Apache Helicopters while patrolling over the Strait of Hormuz,” Trump posted on social media.

-Israeli strikes targeting military, government and infrastructure sites. -Iran talks in Pakistan in April failed to reach a peace deal. Trump later announced an open-ended extension of the ceasefire.
U.S. has maintained a blockade of Iran that continues until negotiations are concluded.
