U.S. Army Websites Defaced With Messages Calling President Trump a Pedophile and Thief

The U.S. Army has fixed two of its websites that had been defaced to display messages calling President Trump a "pedophile" and a "thief," TechCrunch reported. The affected sites were the Open Innovation Lab and the AI Integration Center.
Error pages on both sites were modified to include the messages along with references to Tom Barrack, the current U.S. " The changes were visible as of Monday. Cyberscoop contacted the Army after observing the alterations, and the pages were taken down shortly afterward.
The Army did not disclose how the error pages were accessed. The sites appear to run on WordPress and use multiple plug-ins. It remains unclear whether any data was stolen. Cyberscoop reported that the Army is investigating the incident.
A Department of Defense spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment. Earlier this year, hacktivists targeted the Department of Homeland Security and published records on contracts related to deportations. The department confirmed a separate breach this week involving an intelligence-sharing platform.
