U.S. entertainment site apologizes to actress over Shotts location comment
Gold Derby removed a video clip after an editing error misquoted an Outlander actress about a filming location in Shotts. The site issued an apology and released an unedited transcript.
The BbcA U.S. entertainment website removed a video and apologized after an editing error misquoted an Outlander actress about a filming location in the North Lanarkshire town of Shotts. The unedited transcript shows the actress referred to a "particular place" rather than the town as a whole.
She described an old dump that was also a swamp where the production spent over a week and where sets were repeatedly attacked.
Apology and transcript release A spokesperson for the website said the company deeply regrets the error and sincerely apologizes to the actress, the people of Shotts, and everyone involved. The site also released the full unedited transcript of the interview. The actress clarified that the comment applied only to the specific site, not the town or the little village.
Production difficulties reported A source stated the shoot faced additional problems when gangs of youths stole and set fire to a quad bike. The production also encountered ground that was difficult to penetrate. Outlander, which concluded earlier this year, centered on the relationship between the actress's character, a present-day nurse, and her co-star's character, a Jacobite.
