U.S. forces struck more than 80 targets across Iran, including air-defense systems, coastal radar facilities, command-and-control centers and about 60 vessels belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps operating near the Strait of Hormuz. The operation followed Iranian attacks on three commercial oil tankers in the waterway, according to U.S. Central Command.

CENTCOM said the strikes were intended to reduce Iran's ability to threaten international shipping.
Officials said the actions violated understandings on navigation and security in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran also blamed continued Israeli military operations in Lebanon for undermining the ceasefire framework and warned neighboring countries not to allow the U.S. or its allies to use their territory for operations against Iran.
"For me, the MoU is over. I don't want to deal with them anymore," he said.
"I'll give a little warning:
We're going to hit them hard tonight," he said. Trump claimed U.S. forces had "knocked out 28 boats" during overnight operations and said they would "probably" destroy more Iranian vessels if necessary. He also said the U.S. "may take over" Kharg Island, Iran's main oil-export hub, and could restore a blockade in the Strait of Hormuz.
