U.S. military forces conducted strikes on locations in southern and eastern Iran for a fifth consecutive night. Iranian state news agency IRNA reported explosions near Shahid Baghaei Hospital in Ahvaz, a wheat storage silo in Hoveyzeh, and sites in Dasht-e Azadegan.
The hospital director stated that 211 patients were relocated following the explosions. Explosions were also reported in Bandar Abbas, Sirik, and Qeshm in Hormozgan province, with damage reported at a fishmeal factory in Qeshm.
Airport in northern central Iran was struck, with no deaths or injuries reported. Air defense systems were active in several areas of Tehran early Thursday morning. Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps stated it struck a U.S. air base in Jordan with ballistic missiles.
Iranian state media reported separate drone attacks on U.S. facilities in Jordan, Kuwait, and Bahrain, though no immediate reports confirmed weapons hitting American bases. Kuwait's Army stated its air defenses confronted hostile drones.
A drone crashed into a tanker docked at Iraq's Basra oil terminal on Thursday, with no damage or fire reported. The flow of crude oil was suspended at all of Iraq's loading terminals after the incident. U.S. forces reported intercepting a ship accused of trying to break the newly reimposed naval blockade of Iran's ports.
Iran exported around 80 million barrels of crude oil after President Trump and his counterpart signed a memorandum of understanding on June 17.
Ministry spokesman stated that renewed conflict serves no one's interests, noting phone calls between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Iranian and Qatari counterparts in recent days. A U.S.-Iran dual citizen under an exit ban since December 2024 departed Iran and is traveling back to the United States.
She suffered a heart attack on July 8 while under the exit ban. Iran's military stated it would target all infrastructure in the region if President Trump attacks Iranian civilian infrastructure. President Trump had threatened on Wednesday to order attacks on Iranian civilian infrastructure including power plants and bridges.
