Vice President JD Vance announced Monday that Iran had agreed to invite experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency to resume operations in the country. President Donald Trump stated on Truth Social that Iran will agree to major weapons inspections to ensure nuclear honesty long into the future.
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei stated that Tehran did not negotiate the nuclear issue and did not accept any new commitments in Sunday's talks in Switzerland.
The talks lasted 18 hours, according to the ministry. Iran stopped allowing IAEA inspectors into the country last year after the U.S. conducted strikes on its nuclear facilities in June 2025. Tehran and the nuclear watchdog have not commented on the agreement claim.
