Iran Agrees to Concessions on Strait of Hormuz, Uranium and Proxies for U.S. Sanctions Relief

U.S. and Iranian negotiators have reached a tentative agreement to extend the current ceasefire by 60 days and begin nuclear talks. The framework still requires final approval from President Trump before it can take effect.

The pact would maintain the existing ceasefire and open formal discussions on Iran's nuclear program. Weeks of heightened military tensions preceded the negotiations that produced the tentative deal.

U.S. official said the tentative pact awaits President Trump's signoff. Iranian negotiators have already agreed to the extension and the launch of nuclear talks. Once approved, the 60-day extension would begin immediately and run alongside the new round of nuclear negotiations.
