U.S. Launches Second Wave of Strikes on Iranian Military Sites

The strikes targeted Iranian military capabilities used to threaten vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz. Explosions were reported in Bandar Abbas, Chabahar and Ahvaz. U.S. projectiles hit a location near Bandar Abbas and a naval watchtower in Chabahar, Iranian media said. Ahvaz has been repeatedly targeted by U.S. forces since hostilities restarted this month.

Kuwait intercepted at least four cruise missiles and 21 drones from Iran the same day. Iranian aggression targeted vital facilities in Kuwait, resulting in material damage, the Kuwait Defence Ministry said. Five drone attacks occurred across Erbil in northern Iraq.

Iraqi air defences intercepted three drones near the U.S. consulate, while others crashed near a U.S. base, exploded near Erbil airport and were shot down over Hariri airbase.

Morocco signed an agreement with the Donald Trump-backed Gaza Board of Peace to join the International Stabilization Force. The signing ceremony was attended by Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and Board of Peace envoy Nickolay Mladenov. Israel and Lebanon agreed to enforce two pilot zones following U.S.-brokered talks.

Hezbollah opposes direct talks between Lebanon and Israel and calls for full Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon. U.S. Vice President JD Vance stated that Israel is losing the public opinion battle in the U.S. while noting that Israel tries to influence U.S. politics and is more effective at it than most.
