U.S. Men's National Team Announces 26-Player Roster for 2026 World Cup

U.S. Men's National Team announced its 26-player roster for the 2026 FIFA World Cup during a fan event in New York City on Tuesday. Coach Mauricio Pochettino selected the squad after months of evaluations. The roster mixes 13 newcomers with 13 players who appeared in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The squad features three goalkeepers, 10 defenders, four midfielders, six attacking midfielders and wingers, and three strikers. Players represent clubs across Major League Soccer, the Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga, and other leagues. The tournament opens next month across 16 host cities in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. S. team plays its first group-stage match on June 12 against Paraguay at SoFi Stadium near Los Angeles. S. has never won a World Cup. Its best finish remains the round of 16, achieved in 2022 after a 3-1 loss to the Netherlands.
