U.S. military conducts additional strikes on Iranian targets

U.S. Central Command conducted an additional round of strikes against Iran on July 8. The strikes targeted air defense systems, coastal surveillance assets, missile and drone storage sites, naval capabilities, and military logistics infrastructure along Iran's coastline.

The command said the operation aimed to degrade Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping and civilian crews in the Strait of Hormuz. Officials stated the strikes followed an earlier round conducted the previous night. Iranian officials issued statements after the strikes.

Both statements appeared on X on Wednesday after the U.S. military announced the strikes. Kuwait and Bahrain reported coming under attack following the operation.
