U.S. Navy seized an Iran-linked oil tanker named Skywave in the Indian Ocean overnight. U.S. in March for its role in transporting Iranian oil. Ship-tracking data showed the vessel sailing just west of Malaysia on Tuesday after transiting the Malacca Strait.

The ship was likely loaded with more than a million barrels of crude at Iran’s Kharg Island in February. U.S. has seized an oil tanker in connection with its actions against Iran-linked vessels.

President Trump stated on Tuesday that Iran is begging to make a deal. U.S. may have to give Iran another big hit and that he was one hour away from ordering new attacks on Iran on Monday. He added that Iran has two or three days to come to the table, possibly by Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

Iran stated it stands ready to confront aggression and remains in a high state of military alert. Tensions with nearby Gulf states remain high amid reports that drones have recently been launched from Iraqi territory.

NATO is discussing the possibility of helping ships pass through the blocked Strait of Hormuz if the waterway is not reopened by early July. The idea has support from several NATO members but does not yet have the necessary unanimous support. Leaders from NATO countries will meet in Ankara on July 7-8.
