U.S. officials identify Northeast site of recurring glowing orbs

U.S. officials have identified a location in the Northeast where glowing orbs have appeared repeatedly since 2021. The site was located after a resident reported the sightings and provided cellphone videos to the FBI. The disclosure was made Friday as part of a third set of UFO files released under President Trump's February declassification order. The exact location remains undisclosed.

Sightings and evidence The resident first contacted the FBI in October 2024.

Four videos recorded between 2021 and 2025 show single orbs that sometimes appear to replicate or change size, as well as pairs of reddish orbs hovering near each other. FBI agents visited the property, described as a home on a secluded pond, and reported seeing white lights that moved side to side, pulsed, flashed, and appeared above the tree line.

They also observed a bright white light above a bright red light that moved quickly, disappeared, and reappeared. The agents took five blurry photos and ruled out drones or conventional aircraft as explanations. The resident reported spikes in gamma radiation and effects on electronics and GPS that coincided with the sightings.

Context from prior releases Earlier file releases included reports of similar orbs in the western U.S., including one incident last year in a restricted mountain range where an intelligence officer described orbs appearing near a helicopter and fighter jets being called to investigate.

Officials have not identified the nature or origin of the orbs and are not speculating pending further study. President Trump has stated he is skeptical about the existence of alien life.
