Wyndham Clark used a wooden coat hanger as a training aid while practicing for the British Open on Monday. Clark held the hanger against his club grip with the hook parallel to the clubface. He said the device is intended to increase inflection in his left wrist so he can square the clubface more consistently.
"Yeah, the coat hanger is for wrist angle, trying to get a little more inflection in my left wrist so I can square the face more," Clark told reporters. "I get my wrist cupped and I’ve been trying to get it flatter. " Clark said Mondays are his technical days and that his swing had gotten slightly off after a round the previous day.
He typically hits 15 to 20 shots with the hanger before removing it.
