U.S. Strikes Hit Iranian-Linked Bases in Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan
U.S. forces targeted surveillance, communications and air-defense sites in three countries. Iran responded with missiles and warned it would close the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian news agencies reported explosions in Sirik, Kargan, Bandar Abbas, Minab, Karaj and Varamin. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said the sites hit included a manufacturing complex, a military barracks and a local Guard base outside Tehran. Iran fired 12 ballistic missiles at the al-Azraq air base in Jordan.
Kuwait’s air defenses engaged hostile aerial targets, and Kuwait closed its airspace for several hours. Bahraini air defenses intercepted and destroyed incoming Iranian projectiles; Bahrain’s Interior Ministry said an 11-year-old girl was hurt and cars and homes were damaged by falling debris. S.
Central Command denied that the Strait of Hormuz was closed or that any of its ships were struck, and said commercial ships were still transiting the strait. Iran’s top joint military command warned it would fire on any vessel trying to pass through the strait. Iran’s Foreign Ministry accused the United States of striking reservoirs that supplied drinking water to 10 villages.
President Donald Trump said the United States would conduct further strikes if Tehran does not immediately agree to a peace deal. Trump told Fox News reporter Trey Yingst on Wednesday evening Washington time that the strikes would stop soon but that he would resume heavy bombing if Iran’s leaders did not sign an agreement immediately.
Oil prices rose nearly $3 following Trump’s threat of escalation.
The international benchmark for crude oil traded above $93 a barrel on Wednesday, up more than 25 percent since the start of the war. S. Apache helicopter was downed near the Strait of Hormuz earlier this week; the two American aviators aboard were rescued by a drone boat.
U.S. official said there was no significant damage from those attacks. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated on June 10 2026 that Iran would respond to the attacks. S. attack on the Palau-flagged tanker Settebello killed three Indian mariners on Wednesday.
