U.S. Team to Decide on Players With Yellow Cards for Match Against Turkey

The U.S. men's national team must decide whether to field four players carrying yellow cards in its final group-stage match against Turkey on Thursday. Chris Richards, Tyler Adams, Folarin Balogun and Antonee Robinson each hold one yellow card, and a second would sideline any of them for the round-of-32 game under tournament rules.

Yellow cards reset after the group stage and again after the quarterfinals in the 48-team event. Usa Today reported that the decision carries limited risk because the Americans have already secured first place in Group D and Turkey has been eliminated. Chris Richards addressed the situation before training on Wednesday.

"Obviously I want to play every game. " Richards added that he does not know the lineup for the match. "But I know if I am playing, I'll do my very, very best not to get a yellow," he said.
