The changes follow Iran's refusal to give up its remaining nuclear material. Officials said the revisions are intended to increase pressure on Iran to respond more quickly.

Iran has stated it will only accept terms it agrees with and is prepared for the possibility of no deal. A two-hour meeting in the Situation Room on Friday showed no finalized agreement. Officials noted that reaching Iran's supreme leader for approval has been difficult and any new changes could add further delays.

Treasury Secretary Comments U.S.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told Fox News that Iran made a "big mistake" by attacking its neighbors in the Persian Gulf. He said the attacks prompted some allies to become more willing to freeze Iranian accounts. Bessent also said Iran's oil loading facilities at Kharg Island are shut down, which would require Iran to reduce production at its wells.

Netanyahu said he has instructed the Israeli military to expand its operations in Lebanon after occupying Beaufort Castle. The Israeli military said it has killed 900 Hezbollah fighters since a ceasefire began on April 16 and struck dozens of sites on Sunday. Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam accused Israel of pursuing a scorched-earth policy as the ground operations expand.
