U.S. Vice President Accuses Israel of Funding Campaigns Against Iran Talks

Vice President JD Vance stated that Israel funded campaigns intended to undermine U.S. negotiations with Iran aimed at ending the war. Israeli officials did not immediately respond to the allegation.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society evacuated 40 patients and 62 companions from Gaza for medical treatment outside the territory. The patients were prepared at the al-Mawasi field hospital before transfer through the Rafah crossing in coordination with the World Health Organization.

Lebanon's Foreign Minister Youssef Raggi said ending Hezbollah's military arm is a sovereign Lebanese decision. He stated there is no longer room for weapons outside state legitimacy and that the decision preceded a June 26 framework agreement reached in Washington.

The U.S. military conducted strikes against targets in northern Iran and near Tehran, according to U.S. Central Command. The strikes targeted military sites to reduce Iran's ability to threaten vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, and at least 35 people died and more than 300 were wounded in Iran during the latest wave that began last Wednesday.

Iranian officials said the Strait of Hormuz is a red line and that Iran maintains permanent control over the waterway. They stated that further U.S. attacks on Iranian infrastructure would prompt Iranian responses against regional infrastructure. Syrian authorities reported foiling an attempt to smuggle advanced weapons, including missiles, from Iraq intended for Hezbollah.

State news agency SANA cited an unnamed Interior Ministry source for the information. Final exams for graduating high school students in Iran's southern provinces of Hormozgan, Bushehr, Khuzestan, and Sistan and Baluchestan were postponed due to ongoing strikes and escalation threats.
