U.S. Whey Protein Prices Jump 250 % but New Capacity and Stable Retail Markups Limit Further Rises
Wholesale prices for 80% whey protein concentrate exceed $13 per pound in the U.S., up 250% from a year earlier, as demand for high-protein foods outpaces supply.

Bryan Morin, sports brand manager at Now Foods, said the company does not anticipate further price increases on whey protein powder in 2026.
