UAE Reports Intercepted Missiles from Iran as Regional Tensions Rise

A fire broke out at a petroleum facility in the port city of Fujairah following a suspected drone attack, and three Indian nationals were injured.
The ministry stated that the UAE reserves the right to respond, while Iranian military officials, quoted in state media, said there was no plan to target the UAE. Sharif expressed solidarity with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and stated that the ceasefire must be upheld to allow space for dialogue and peace in the region.
UAE presidential adviser Anwar Gargash posted on social media appreciating messages of solidarity from Gulf, Arab, and international communities, adding that these positions confirm Iran as the aggressor responsible for exacerbating the crisis in the Arabian Gulf.
Qatar, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the Gulf Cooperation Council, and the European Union have condemned the suspected Iranian strike on the UAE, as reported by Al Jazeera. The incident occurred amid rising tensions, with US President Donald Trump warning that Iran would face severe consequences if US Navy ships are targeted in the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran had reported that a US naval frigate was hit, a claim denied by the US military.
Iran stated that US forces attacked civilian boats in the Strait of Hormuz, resulting in five civilian deaths, according to Resul Serdar Atas reporting from Tehran. Iranian officials denied that the boats belonged to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and said US destroyers attempted to enter the strait with radars off.
After detection, Iranian naval forces fired warning shots using drones, missiles, and rockets, forcing the US ships to turn away, and warned that further attempts would violate the ceasefire. Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf posted on social media that the US and its allies have jeopardized shipping and energy transit security in the Strait of Hormuz by violating the ceasefire and imposing a blockade.
Ghalibaf said a new equation for the strait is solidifying and that the continuation of the status quo is intolerable for the US.
Thailand's cabinet approved a $12.2 billion emergency borrowing package to mitigate economic impacts from the US-Israel war on Iran, according to lawmakers. The package, one of the country's largest in decades, will boost domestic spending and provide aid to more than 20 million low-income people under the Thais Help Thais scheme from June to September.
Last week, the Thai Finance Ministry reduced its GDP growth forecast to 1.6 percent from 2.4 percent the previous year. South Korea's presidential office is investigating potential participation in Project Freedom, as reported by Reuters. Separately, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that Israeli forces conducted raids in several villages in the occupied West Bank, including Jorat al-Shamaa, Wadi al-Nis, Umm Salamuna, and areas west of Ramallah, with no injuries or arrests noted.
