UAE Opens First National Passenger Rail Line From Fujairah to Abu Dhabi

The final station in Sharjah is scheduled to open at the end of March 2027, completing the 900-kilometer (560-mile) route that will link the Gulf of Oman to the Saudi border.

Integration with other transport The Integrated Transport Centre said it coordinated with Etihad Rail to connect rail stations with buses, taxis, and other local services. Officials said the system is intended to reduce the country’s carbon footprint.

Etihad Rail’s chief operating officer stated that the first departure marks the start of a national vision that will give residents a new way to travel between cities.
