Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi Has 4.83 Rider Rating
Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said his current rider rating is 4.83. The company reported the average rider rating is 4.89. Khosrowshahi said he has improved from a 4.81 rating shared in 2025.
Uber uses a mutual rating system for riders and drivers to promote safety and accountability on its platform. Users whose ratings fall below a company threshold risk losing access to the app, although the exact minimum is not publicly specified. Dara Khosrowshahi said in an interview published Friday that his personal Uber rider rating stands at 4.83.
He added that he is working to raise it to 4.9. That figure is slightly below the average rider rating of 4.89 that Uber reported in a company blog post. The CEO previously shared a rating of 4.81 during an appearance on CBS Sunday Morning in 2025.
Khosrowshahi said he takes specific actions to keep his rating elevated. These include arriving at the car on time and asking the driver for permission before using his phone during the ride. He also described himself as a consistent tipper. "For a $30 ride, I'll tip 10, 15 bucks," Khosrowshahi said.
Additional advice from both the CEO and Uber's company blog includes avoiding slamming car doors, keeping the vehicle clean, and requesting permission before eating or drinking inside.
Khosrowshahi said that roughly half the drivers who pick him up recognize him as the company's CEO. In those cases, he said, the ride often turns into a discussion about how the service can be improved. "Half of them know who I am, and then we chat on how things are going and how we can improve the product.
And then half of them kind of are doing their own thing, and then I do my own thing," he said. " Being recognized does not appear to grant any special treatment in the rating system. Khosrowshahi's experience illustrates that even senior executives are subject to the same rider-rating process as other customers.
