UCLA Baseball Wins Big Ten Tournament Title, Completes Fifth Conference Championship

UCLA rallied to defeat Oregon in extra innings Sunday in Omaha, Nebraska, to win the Big Ten baseball tournament championship. The Bruins secured the title when Phoenix Call was hit by a pitch in the 11th inning, scoring the winning run. The win marked UCLA's fifth Big Ten conference championship this academic year. UCLA, USC, Oregon and Washington joined the Big Ten before the 2024-25 season.

Bids UCLA, USC and Oregon each received NCAA tournament bids Monday. UCLA earned the No. 1 overall seed and will host a regional and, if it advances, a super regional. The four former Pac-12 schools won 12 of the Big Ten's 24 conference titles this academic year. Baseball was the final championship event of the year.

UCLA coach John Savage told the Big Ten Network after the game that good teams keep getting better and that fans might see a couple of Big Ten teams at the College World Series in a couple of weeks. Freshman pitcher Angel Cervantes places a small toy dinosaur named Jerry beside him on the mound. He told Noah Darling of Jomboy Media that the toy calms him during games.
