Police arrested Poirier for public intoxication at Hartsfield-Jackson airport near Atlanta days before the post. Authorities removed him from a flight on Father's Day, and bodycam footage later showed an exchange with airport staff and an officer. The footage captured Poirier using profanity and challenging others to fight.
An airport official repeatedly declined and backed away while calling for assistance.
Poirier retired from mixed martial arts in July 2025 after a loss at UFC 318. He holds a professional record of 30 wins, 10 losses, and one no-contest, with 22 victories inside the UFC. In the same post, Poirier said he is working to get his mind right and take the next steps toward change.
