UK Home Office Publishes Guidance on Martyn's Law for Venue Security Against Terrorist Attacks

The UK Home Office has released guidance on Martyn's Law, formally known as the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Bill, to help venues implement security measures against terrorist attacks. The law is named after Martyn Hett, one of 22 people killed in the 2017 Manchester Arena bombing. Martyn's Law received Royal Assent on April 3, 2025, but includes an implementation period of at least two years before it takes full effect. Under the law, staff at UK venues with a capacity of more than 200 people must develop a plan for responding to a terrorist attack on the premises.
