Ukraine Conducts Drone Strikes on Moscow and Targets Russian Logistics

Ukrainian drones struck targets in and around Moscow last weekend, including the Moscow Oil Refinery, which halted operations temporarily. The strikes were part of a series of attacks on Russian military and industrial sites.

Ukrainian forces have focused on strikes between 20 and 200 kilometers from the front lines. These operations target Russian logistics, air defense systems, and command posts. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated in late April that middle strikes are a priority. He said Ukraine has contracted five times more middle-strike capabilities this year than last year.

Ukraine has conducted drone raids on refineries and oil terminals on the Baltic Sea and Black Sea since early 2026. These attacks have affected Russian energy exports. Russia scaled back its Victory Day parade in Moscow due to concerns over Ukrainian drone threats.

The reduced event followed months of Ukrainian long-range strikes on Russian territory. Ukrainian activist Serhii Sternenko reported that forces can strike Russian logistics more than 70 kilometers away using FPV drones. Ukraine aims to halt enemy supplies across the front line.
