Ukraine launched long-range strikes near St. Petersburg on Saturday as Russian President Vladimir Putin hosted the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The strikes hit areas just miles from the city where Putin was speaking to foreign guests, including several Americans.

Ukrainian officials said the attacks occurred hundreds of miles from active front lines. Putin had dismissed the prospect of direct peace talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky hours earlier. He told the forum audience that he saw little point in negotiating with Kyiv's leader.

, and actor Steven Seagal. Social media personalities Andrew and Tristan Tate were also present. Putin used the forum to highlight Russia's economic resilience despite Western sanctions and the ongoing war.
