Ukrainian Regiment Strikes Bridges Linking Crimea to Southern Front

Ukraine's 1st Separate Assault Regiment said it carried out strikes on bridges in the Armyansk, Henichesk, and Chonhar areas over the last week. The targets were the three chokepoints between Crimea and the southern front, situated between 50 and 75 miles from the front lines.

The regiment posted first-person-view drone footage on social media over the last five days showing uncrewed systems flown into bridge surfaces.

Some attacks were coordinated with the 475th Assault Regiment and the Security Service of Ukraine's Alpha unit. 5 feet and carries a 77-pound thermobaric payload plus 88 pounds of explosives. Several clips showed at least two bridges burning, with structures severely damaged in some areas. Business Insider could not independently verify the authenticity of the footage. Pro-Russian authorities in the region have confirmed the strikes.

Vladimir Saldo, the Kremlin-appointed governor of Kherson, stated on Thursday that bridges in Armyansk came under attack from at least 45 drone attacks. "According to preliminary reports, some damage has occurred. Experts are conducting an inspection and assessing the condition of the structures," Saldo wrote.

On Tuesday, Saldo stated there were roughly 20 drone attacks on the bridge servicing Chonhar and that traffic there was closed. His office began suggesting alternative traffic routes to avoid areas affected by the strikes and stated that civilian passenger buses in the region would be halted due to a fuel shortage.
