AllAfrica reported that Fletcher's mission aims to strengthen strategic cooperation between the UN and Mogadishu, with a focus on scaling up international investment in humanitarian recovery, according to government officials.
The delegation will participate in dialogues regarding existing humanitarian requirements in Somalia, the modernization of aid delivery, and sustainable funding models, a government spokesperson said. Fletcher is scheduled to remain in Somalia until May 1.
His itinerary includes a field visit to the city of Baidoa in the South West State, where he is expected to conduct a first-hand assessment of the humanitarian situation and meet with regional authorities.
