US forces concluded a seventh consecutive night of attacks on Iran on 18 July 2026, striking at least five bridges across the country, according to statements from the United States. Iranian media reported that US missiles hit electricity facilities and desalination pumps in Jask, Hormozgan province, cutting drinking water supplies to several villages in Bunji.
Tasnim news agency said US strikes damaged two bridges on the Bandar Abbas-Rudan road, killing a number of Iranian citizens and injuring several others.
Iranian media also reported explosions in Khorramabad, Lorestan province, from US missiles launched from Kuwait. Iran responded by hitting a power plant and a desalination plant in Kuwait. The Kuwaiti army stated it was responding to Iranian missile and drone attacks for the second time and urged the public to follow safety instructions.
Jordanian air defences intercepted and downed 10 Iranian missiles that entered Jordanian airspace early on 18 July 2026, with no casualties or material damage reported. Air raid sirens sounded for the third time in a few hours across Bahrain. The number of ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz fell to the lowest level in three weeks, according to MarineTraffic.
US Marines boarded a tanker near the strait, and Iranian media reported two oil tankers exploded and caught fire after passing through a mined route south of the strait. On 17 July 2026, multiple Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip killed at least 14 Palestinians, with more than half killed in a drone strike on a funeral procession in the Nuseirat refugee camp.
Eight people died and at least 20 were injured when an Israeli strike hit civilians in the Balata market area of the same camp, according to Gaza’s civil defence agency and al-Awda Hospital.
