US Strikes Iran Targets Near Hormuz, Imposes New Sanctions

The US military completed a further round of attacks against Iran, hitting dozens of military targets near the Strait of Hormuz and Iranian coastal areas, @AJEnglish reported. The US Treasury also froze more than $130m by sanctioning several cryptocurrency wallets linked to the Central Bank of Iran and imposed sanctions on 50 individuals, entities and vessels tied to an alleged illicit shipping network linked to Mohammad Hossein Shamkhani.

An Israeli helicopter air strike on a home in Deir el-Balah in central Gaza killed four members of one family at dawn on Wednesday, including 33-year-old Omar Sami Ahmad Abu Qasim, his wife Asmaa Ghazi Abu Qasim and their six-year-old daughter Habiba Omar Sami Abu Qasim, according to the Palestinian news agency Wafa.

Israeli settlers slashed tyres on vehicles in the al-Aqaba area outside Beit Dajan east of Nablus early Wednesday. In Beita south of Nablus, settlers cut electricity poles in the al-Dahra area and detained an ambulance, assaulting its medical crew. Israeli forces raided homes in Beita and al-Lubban Asharqiya, detaining two residents.

Clashes in Beita left two young men with wounds and bruises. Israeli forces destroyed several homes and structures with explosives in the valleys of Beit Yahoun in south Lebanon’s Bint Jbeil district, bulldozed roads to Maroun al-Ras and opened fire on residents near Majdal Zoun and al-Mansouri, Lebanon’s National News Agency reported.

Jordanian air defences intercepted and downed three Iranian ballistic missiles that entered Jordanian airspace at dawn.

Iran’s Education Ministry relocated examination centres near sensitive sites to public halls and religious centres. Nine of 11 vessels that passed through the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday sailed via the Iranian route, Kpler data showed, including one VLCC carrying 2 million barrels of crude.
