US Workers Using AI on the Job Reach 52 Percent in Second Quarter

Fifty-two percent of US workers reported using AI in their jobs during the second quarter of 2026, according to a Gallup poll cited by Semafor. Thirty percent said they used the technology frequently, while 15 percent turned to it daily. The figures mark a steady increase from the first quarter.

Forty-seven percent of American employees said their organization has adopted AI tools to improve operations. That share rose from 41 percent in the first quarter. One-third of employees said their organization has not incorporated AI into daily work.

Workers who use AI most often apply it to writing and editing or research tasks. Semafor reported the poll results on July 21, 2026. The data show how AI is already present in many workplaces even as employees continue to assess its longer-term effects on employment.
