USA Basketball Expected to Name Daigneault, Bickerstaff and Few as Assistant Coaches

USA Basketball is expected to name Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault, Detroit Pistons head coach JB Bickerstaff and Gonzaga head coach Mark Few as assistant coaches for Erik Spoelstra's national team staff. Spoelstra was named head coach last September after succeeding Steve Kerr following the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Few has worked with Team USA in multiple roles over the past decade and has served as an assistant alongside Spoelstra since 2021.

Daigneault and Bickerstaff will take on their first national team coaching assignments. Daigneault's Thunder led the NBA in wins over the past two seasons and captured the 2025 championship. Bickerstaff guided the Pistons to an Eastern Conference-best 60 wins in the most recent season.

Team USA will next play World Cup qualifiers in late August against Chile and Colombia, according to ESPN. The squad has already secured automatic qualification for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
