The USS Hornet museum in Alameda County will host the Galactic Camp furry convention from May 29 to May 31. The retired aircraft carrier was launched in 1943, served in World War II and Vietnam, and recovered the Apollo 11 astronauts after their Pacific splashdown. It was decommissioned in 1970.

Listed for this year's event include a furry scavenger hunt, Uno for funny animals, trash panda trashy karaoke, and R-rated adult fursuit games. Registration fees range from $80 for seaman level to $300 for captain level, which includes drink tickets and an overnight stay on the ship.

The museum hosted Carrier Con, an anime convention, in March, with proceeds directed to museum operations. The California Post reported that organizers and museum staff were contacted for comment but did not provide statements by publication time.
