Utah authorities issued an AMBER alert after two brothers under the age of 2 were reported missing following a missed custody exchange. The alert states the boys have not been seen since their father picked them up in Washington state on May 16. Dane Stephen Richman, 46, was scheduled to return the children to their mother at his home in Saratoga Springs, Utah, on Saturday but did not appear.

The Utah Department of Public Safety said Richman had moved out of his residence without notice and missed a custody deposition on Friday.

The alert described Richman as seriously depressed and facing financial ruin. It noted he had sold his belongings and abandoned his home, indicating the children may face imminent danger of serious bodily harm or death. Richman is believed to be traveling in a black 2025 Toyota Camry with license plate A561HL, which may carry a temporary tag.

An electronic alert was sent to mobile devices in Utah on Sunday morning. Kate Walters, the boys’ aunt, posted on Facebook that Richman moved out on Friday and asked for help locating the children. The boys are identified as Will Richman, almost 2, and Wesley Richman, 10 months.
