Utz Recalls Select Dirty and Zapp’s Potato Chips Over Potential Salmonella Contamination
Utz Quality Foods LLC has voluntarily recalled limited varieties of Dirty and Zapp’s brand potato chips due to possible salmonella contamination from a seasoning ingredient. The FDA issued a warning on Monday, noting no illnesses have been reported. Consumers are advised to discard affected products.

The FDA alert lists the impacted products by item name, size, description, UPC numbers, best by dates, and batch code numbers. There have been no reported illnesses related to the recall. No additional products produced by Utz Quality Foods are impacted.
People are advised to discard any impacted products and not eat them, the FDA alert stated. m. m.

Salmonella is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems, according to the FDA. Infections with salmonella often cause fever, diarrhea which may be bloody, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.
