In Guayaquil, Ecuador, she worked with local government to establish a crime watch program and served as an interpreter.

She served as Chancellor of the Saskatchewan Order of Merit. She also acted as provincial chair of the Canadian Forces Liaison Council and honorary colonel of the 10th Field Artillery Regiment prior to her lieutenant-governor role.

During and before her term as lieutenant-governor, Schofield supported the Canadian Forces. She established the Lieutenant Governor's Military Service Pin to recognize service and sacrifice by Saskatchewan residents in the armed forces. She hosted the Support Our Troops Gala, a national fundraiser for charities aiding military families.
In 2023, Schofield became honorary colonel of 15 Wing Moose Jaw, succeeding Lisa Franks who held the position since 2019. After her lieutenant-governor term ended in 2018, she served as president and CEO of the Western Group of Companies, a real estate firm.
