She established the Lieutenant Governor's Military Service Pin to recognize service and sacrifice by Saskatchewan residents in the armed forces. She hosted the Support Our Troops Gala, a national fundraiser for charities aiding military families.

In 2023, Schofield became honorary colonel of 15 Wing Moose Jaw, succeeding Lisa Franks who held the position since 2019. After her lieutenant-governor term ended in 2018, she served as president and CEO of the Western Group of Companies, a real estate firm.
