Four vessels transited the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday, July 19, down from eight the previous day, shipping data showed. At least three oil products tankers and one Very Large Crude Carrier have entered the strait since Friday to load oil. No liquefied natural gas tankers have passed through since Thursday, July 16.
Rappler reported that LSEG data tracks container ships, bulkers, vehicle carriers, and tankers carrying oil, gas and chemicals. The Strait of Hormuz normally handles one-fifth of global oil trade. On Sunday the United States said it had completed an eighth straight night of attacks against Iran.
Kuwait and Bahrain reported additional Iranian attacks the same day. In recent days both sides have targeted shipping traffic, with the United States enforcing a naval blockade on Iranian ports and Iran targeting vessels it says violate its navigation rules.
