"I'm lucky enough to serve under a President who gives me a lot of responsibility," he said. "One of the things that I have to do is, in our country, of course, we have senators and congressmen and women who vote on laws. " Vance also described his diplomatic duties.
"I also have some roles in the diplomacy that we do, and so I'll go to other countries, sometimes with you, of course, and sometimes we even take our kids to meet with foreign leaders," he stated. The couple discussed their children's reading habits. "You, of course, are very into teaching our kids how to read, which is very cool," Vance said.
Usha Vance replied that a new baby would give him more years of reading aloud. " Vance read Winnie-the-Pooh on the episode and explained the story. He noted that the original Winnie-the-Pooh stuffed animals are featured in America.
Usha Vance's podcast launched in March 2026. The first episode featured her reading The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter. She later launched a summer reading challenge that received tens of thousands of submissions from all 50 states.
