Vice President Vance Installs Custom Chicken Coop at Naval Observatory Residence

Carolina Coops, a family-owned company based in Creedmoor, North Carolina, designed and installed the coop. The firm, founded in 2008 by Matt and Gnon DuBoise, recreated the residence’s round turret, green trim, and faux slate roof. Matthew DuBoise oversaw the installation and provided advice to the Vances.
He told the Associated Press on June 8 that the company received no taxpayer funds for the work. “It’s something I thought was amazing to do for this country,” DuBoise said. ” He added that he was pleased by the family’s reaction.
“I couldn’t have been happier to see that excitement,” DuBoise said. ” The Naval Observatory has served as the vice presidential residence since former Vice President Walter Mondale moved in during 1977. Vice presidents have lived on the 72-acre grounds since that year.
