Victor Marx Wins Colorado GOP Governor Primary by Fewer Than 2,500 Votes

Victor Marx has won the Republican nomination for governor of Colorado after prevailing in a three-way primary by fewer than 2,500 votes out of more than 520,000 cast, Los Angeles Times reported. The outcome required almost nine days of counting to declare. Marx, 61, is a former Marine who founded All Things Possible Ministries, a Christian nonprofit focused on refugees and trauma victims.

He has described himself as a problem-solver who relies on personal charisma and social media presence. Marx has stated that he was forced into a voodoo ritual involving a beheaded cat at age 3, killed a man at age 7, rescued 45,000 women and children from captivity, called in a U.S. military airstrike that killed 70 ISIS fighters, and performed exorcisms including by telephone.

Colorado Public Radio reported that police have no record of any unsolved homicides in rural Mississippi from the period of the claimed childhood killing. State Sen. Barbara Kirkmeyer, who finished second in the primary, declined to endorse Marx and urged voters to choose the path best for Colorado in November.

She added that she still has not killed anyone. Colorado has elected only one Republican governor in the last 55 years.
