Victor Wembanyama Signs Five-Year $252 Million Extension With Spurs

Victor Wembanyama signed a five-year, $252 million maximum rookie-scale contract extension with the San Antonio Spurs. The agreement includes a player option in the fifth season and was announced on July 10, 2026. The deal ranks as the third-largest rookie extension in NBA history, according to ESPN.

Wembanyama will earn about $16.8 million in the 2026-27 season under his current rookie contract. The extension begins in the 2027-28 season at approximately $43.5 million and includes a $57. Wembanyama accepted less than the maximum possible value of more than $300 million over five years.
