A video posted on social media shows Jude Bellingham striking Valentín Barco on the back of the head after England lost 2-1 to Argentina in a World Cup semifinal match on July 15, 2026. The footage, shared by an account identified as GONZA, shows Barco running toward England players and celebrating in front of them after Enzo Fernández scored the tying goal in the 85th minute.
Bellingham approached Barco and two teammates who were linking arms, then struck Barco, prompting an angry response.
Match details England had led 1-0 after Anthony Gordon’s goal in the 55th minute.
Lautaro Martínez scored the winning goal for Argentina in stoppage time. Bellingham scored six goals during the 2026 World Cup tournament, including two against Mexico in the Round of 16 and two against Norway in the quarterfinals.
