Footage released June 5, 2026, depicts an aircraft with a shovel-like nose, large canards, and rear-set wings. Analysts connect the design to Boeing's F-47 sixth-generation fighter program.
The War ZoneA video released on June 5, 2026, by the Project Fear YouTube channel shows an exotic aircraft flying near Area 51. The clip, which begins at approximately 49:34 in the runtime, captures a tailless design featuring a long shovel-like nose, large canards, and rear-set swept wings with significant dihedral and possibly drooping tips.

The aircraft appears consistent with a possible progenitor of Boeing’s F-47 sixth-generation fighter.
Official U.S. Air Force renderings from March 2025 already displayed canards on the F-47 concept, and a May 2025 Air Force graphic listed the fighter’s top speed as Mach 2+ with a combat radius of 1,000+ nautical miles. Aerospace engineer Darold Cummings, who contributed to Northrop’s YF-23 Black Widow and now leads ForzAero, reviewed the footage.
He said long straight edges remain optimal for low observability and that he would be surprised if the aircraft featured drooping wingtips like Boeing’s Bird of Prey demonstrator tested at Area 51 in the 1990s. Cummings added that the F-47 would likely not exceed Mach 2.2.
He suggested the canards might be angled at plus 10 degrees and the wings at minus two to three degrees to optimize performance across the flight envelope.
3D artist Olivier Vargas created renderings based on the video that illustrate the visible planform. The design echoes earlier Boeing concepts such as the X-36 Tailless Fighter Agility Research Aircraft and the unbuilt Lockheed MANTA, also designated X-44A.
