Volkswagen to Launch ID.3 Neo in Europe and End ID.4 Production in US by 2026
Volkswagen introduced the ID.3 Neo electric crossover for the European market with pre-sales starting April 16, 2026. Concurrently, the company announced it will cease production of the ID.4 electric SUV in the U.S. by mid-April 2026, while continuing to supply existing inventory through 2027.

3 Neo electric crossover for the European market, with pre-sales beginning April 16, 2026, in Germany and other European countries. 3 Neo offers a driving range of up to 391 miles (630 kilometers) on a single charge and will be available with three battery sizes and electric drive motors producing 125, 140, and 170 kilowatts.
It will come in three equipment lines: Trends, Life, and Style.
3 Neo, featuring extensive enhancements including a redesigned cockpit with intuitive controls and a new exterior front design based on the company's 'Pure Positive' design language. 4 electric SUV in the United States. 4 at the Chattanooga plant will end by mid-April 2026, though existing inventory will support US sales through 2027.
Model Year 2026 ID.4 will remain available to customers through existing inventory, expected to meet demand into 2027. A future version of ID.4 is planned for the North American market. Volkswagen stated that the evolving electric vehicle market demands strategic adjustments to address varying regional demands and uncertainties.
