Wales defeated the Barbarians 33-31 at the Allianz Stadium in Twickenham on Saturday. The match served as a warm-up for Wales ahead of their Nations Championship campaign.
Wales scored five tries through Kieran Hardy, Dan Edwards (two), Reuben Morgan-Williams and Ellis Mee. Fly-half Dan Edwards added 12 points with two conversions. The Barbarians replied with tries from Vincent Koch, George North (two), Alex Nankivell and Santiago Arata. North converted his second try with the final kick of the game.
North came on as a second-half replacement and scored with his first touch. He had previously won 121 caps and scored 47 tries for Wales across four Six Nations titles and two Grand Slams.
Wales fielded a squad drawn only from the four domestic regions because the fixture fell outside World Rugby's official window. Twelve players based in England and France were unavailable. The Barbarians side included 19 internationals from 11 countries and was captained by Faf de Klerk.
Wales had recorded a Six Nations victory against Italy in March. Officials said the squad for next week's Nations Championship opener against Fiji will be named early next week.
