The New York Knicks held a championship parade through lower Manhattan after winning the franchise's first NBA title since 1973. Walt Frazier, a member of the 1973 championship team, rode in the lead vehicle.

New York Basketball wrote on X that the vehicle is estimated at over $1 million and has carried "countless legends down the Canyon of Heroes, including the Apollo 11 astronauts who first landed on the moon." Chrysler produced only three of the open-top parade cars. The New York City example measures more than 20 feet long, weighs close to 6,000 pounds, and features red leather interior seating.
Historical connection After the 1969 moon landing, astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins rode in the same Chrysler during their ticker-tape parade. The vehicle has since been reserved for major civic events in the city. More than two million people lined the parade route for the Knicks celebration. The 2026 title ended a 53-year championship drought for the franchise.
